Sleepy Hollow Multimedia Fest - Prompt Collection

The Rules!

1. Prompting will run from February 11th to February 18th. Prompt fills will run from February 19th to March 5th.

2. Prompts can be anything: single words, scenarios, short quotes, links to poems or songs, links to pictures or screencaps, etc.

3. You may prompt for specific characters or pairings, or leave that up to the creator. (Some variety here would be excellent.)

4. You can leave multiple prompts in one comment, one per line. If you want to leave additional prompts, please leave a new comment rather than editing the old one.

5. You will be allowed to create works in response to your own prompts.

Remember that this is a multimedia fest, so prompts aimed at media other than fic are fine.

If you have any questions, please PM me or leave them in the question thread. I'm not tracking this post, and won't see them if you leave them as a new thread.

Feel free to promote this anywhere appropriate. The more, the merrier!

Poll Results!

The all-in-the-comments approach won in the poll, so we're going to go with that. However, after giving it more thought, I've decided to modify it slightly for usability. Instead of keeping it all in the comments of one post, we're going to go with a two-post approach instead: one for prompts, and a later one for fills. Among other things, I think this will make it easier to find the fills.

There was also quite a bit of demand for a second event of some sort, so I'll see about running something else during the summer, closer to the start of season two.

As for our spoiler policy, per the poll, we're going to go with a one week delay. If you're posting any sort of spoiler in this community, please post it beneath a cut and label it appropriately until at least one week after the episode first airs in the US. As far as I know, this hasn't been a problem so far, so this is mostly a preemptive request.

Feeling Creative, Sleepy Hollow Fans?

With the first season of Sleepy Hollow over and a long wait for the second season, we thought it might be fun to celebrate the season with some sort of community creative endeavour. Naturally, this means a poll to see what you all might like to do.

The two options we're considering now:

1. Prompt and claim - We open a prompt post for a couple of weeks, then post the prompts in a new post and let interested participants claim a prompt or two. Each person would then post their fanwork(s) to the community in a new post during the posting period.

2. All in the comments - We put up one post for both prompts and fanworks. Each prompt gets left as a new comment on the post (one prompt per comment), and then responses (or links to responses) get posted as replies to the relevant comment. A summary of all fanworks gets posted at the end. In this version, there's no prompt claiming, so multiple replies to the same prompt would be allowed and you could reply to as many prompts as you like.

If there's some other format you'd like to see, please leave a comment! And if someone comments with an option you like, reply and let us know that too.

Whatever we choose, it will be a multimedia event, with space for fic, icons, podfic, vids, etc.

AO3 feed!

Since there's nearly 500 fics total for Sleepy Hollow at AO3, I decided to make a DW AO3 feed for it. You can follow it here: ao3_sleepyhollow_feed.

This feed will update every so often with all new fics tagged with Sleepy Hollow (TV) for fandom. If you're trying to avoid something specific (e.g. crossovers, small fic collections, a certain pairing or character) make sure you read the AO3 summary before heading over to the fic. (Also, it'll dump new exchange fics all at the same time when said exchange reveals fics.)

Hopefully this feed will work on a regular basis. (If not, I don't know how to fix it. D: ) And happy new year!
